Public Safety

Our Police and Fire services to our residents are my number one priority. As a mom and grandmother, I know the importance of response times.  In all of my 38 years in this great city, I have always been thankful for our police officers and firemen who have helped me or family members in an emergency. Recently our Chief of Police issued a report that crimes for serious offenses (sexual assault, murder, robbery, burglary, theft, aggravated and simple assault and stolen vehicles) are down 12%. Thats fantastic! Also, recently we received an award from the State for our excellent traffic and patrol services.  Costa Mesa has fewer automobile crashes and no recent fatalities.  We have many DUI arrests and very good education programs in our schools.

Careful Management of Limited Resources (Tax Dollars)

I want to continue to lead the prudent management and stewardship of our lmited resources during these difficult economic times. We want to continue to attract new family oriented businesses to our city that will increase our retail sales revenues.  I want to continue to work with our Chamber of Commerce on projects that will encourage our business owners. We want to make sure our infrastructure is being updated so that we can travel easily throughout our city. Please let me know where the potholes are too! We need to maintain our parks and parkways during this season of limited resources.

The Orange County Fairgrounds

Purchasing the Fairgrounds from the State has taken more than a year and we are nearly finished. Oversight of the tenants plans and operations is very important to me. If re-elected, I plan to continue to be very involved in the oversight of the Citys (landlords) relationship with the tenant. I am always open to suggestions and ideas about the Fairgrounds.
